The status of COVID-19 in Korea It is almost two months since Covid-19 was first reported in Korea, and in that time, we at KMI have continually ensured the health and safety of our employees, by not allowing visitors on site, with daily employee health checks and regular sterilization of the entire factory and office buildings. We’re very pleased that these measures have been successful and none of our colleagues have suffered any symptoms of the virus. Even though the number of new cases has reduced substantially in Korea in recent weeks, we remain vigilant at all times by continuing to practice these successful counter measures. During this crisis, our goal has been to maintain continuity of supply to our customers, many of whom are vital contributors to the global food and pharmaceutical supply chains. We have managed to do that, and as the situation here eases, we fully expect to provide increasingly higher service levels going forward. However, we in Korea are fortunate and around the world the situation continues to be of concern, as ever-increasing numbers become infected by the virus. So our thoughts are very much with our friends, colleagues, business partners, their families and loved ones across the globe. We hope and pray for everybody’s safe and healthy exit from the pandemic and assure all of you of our continued efforts to support your businesses and your work in maintaining vital supply chains for your countries’ populations. |
